Some of the first questions that you may ask yourself are…
Will I be able to breastfeed?
How will I be able to feed my baby?
There is not one answer for those questions, as every cleft baby is completely different based on the type of cleft that they have and whether or not their palate is affected. Some babies will be able to breastfeed, while others may not. And as far as bottles go…what can work for one baby, may not be able to work for the next. But in all reality…that’s not too different from a baby born without a cleft. And that is why there are so many different bottles and nipples to choose from when you go to any baby store.
