*He is not around very often but is very smart and did a great job.
*He is very good at what he does. And he knows it, so he is a bit dry and doesn’t have the best bedside manner, but he has gotten much better with warming up to people.
*I loved the entire team! I felt like home there!
*They were very helpful with all of my questions and my daughters needs and very easy to get in a hold of with any sudden questions or concerns, and always willing to take a look at something even if it was nothing.
*The results, so far, are incredible. Very little scaring, and natural looking nose on my bclp beauty.
*Always answer my questions in a timely manner, were flexible when my daughter refused the NAM. They even constructed an external NAM, just for her.”

- Depending on severity, first lip repair is usually done around 3-6 months, palate repair can be done as early as 12 months, 3-4 years old bone grafting if needed, and possible completion of palate, 6-8yrs address orthodontal issues as they arise more. See them as needed for other updates and orthodontics procedures
*We had a wonderful experience with everyone on our team so far! And our sons lip looks terrific!!
*Dr.Kelley’s team is amazing. We initally met with them at 10 weeks, got started immediately with NAM fitting and started taping. First surgery ( lip repair and ear tubes) done at 6 months. Weight gain was a big issue for us before we had the NAM placement. Afterwards, it was resolved very quickly. His team has been so thoughtful and caring through this process. They are all very upfront and blunt, which i appreciate. The previous Dr we had wanted to wait until our daughter was 6 weeks old to even see her for an evaluation. We found out through Dr Kelley’s team that most babies are fitted with a NAM at several days old. Even though we have to drive an hour and a half to see them, they have made every part of this process so much easier on us than i ever tbought possible. His entire team truly care about their patients and families. We would have been so lost with out them.

*Absolutely love our surgeon and ortho and almost everyone on the staff. The 2 people that were iffy either don’t work there anymore or we just don’t see them.
*He is very open with communication. Always tells us his plans as well as back up plans. He readily tells us we have an unusual situation due to my son’s anatomy and let’s us know he seeks advice from other more experienced surgeons around the country. We feel like he is very personal and spends enough time at each appointment with us.
*We love love love our orthodontist and staff in that office. Going there once a week for over 5 months really made them feel like a special part of our lives. Also, for us, finding this team just happened. The cleft was a birthday surprise and we didn’t know anything at all about any of it. Our midwife made 1st contact with them and when we went in, it just felt right. We didn’t know about too many other options at that time but we decided not to pursue any of them bc we knew we felt comfortable and would be given outstanding care based on our first meeting.

Also, after the bone graft surgery, he requires 3 months of a liquid diet (no chewing) and very limited physical activity.
*We love Dr. Genecov and his team! As our son has grown, they have been great about answering his questions and even letting him make some of the decisions about treatments and timing. Plus Dr. Genecov does excellent work. We know our child is in good hands with Dr. G’s Team!

*I have never met someone who cares so much for his patients. He seriously treats all of us like family and wants our little girl to look beautiful!
*Our cleft team not only is known for amazing work, but makes time to be personable with each family. Dr. Hobar, his wife, and cleft team prayed over our family and baby at our first appt. He states “it’s not a job, it’s my mission.” After interviewing many surgeons he was the only one who made reference to the fact she was a little girl and will grow up, get married, and have babies. This was key to my mommy heart! His before and after work wasn’t even comparable to other pictures we have seen at other surgeon interviews. It seems like he is well known to repair BCLP on little girls!

They paid close attention to our son, who was having some breathing issues and even had a Pulmonologist pay us a visit and consult with us. We have always felt very comfortable with Dr Hubli and his team. They truly care about the kids and the parents. He even hugged my Mom (Nana) and talked to them about what was going on pre-surgery for both surgeries. Cook Childrens Hospital as a whole is an amazing place.
